Our Story
The company's original idea was to provide total solutions for a small to mid sized business for computers, phones, cabling, audio/video paging, messaging on hold, and phone and internet services. The name AlphaNet had its origin from the biblical word Alpha striving to become first in the communications industry. Since 2000, Alphanet Telecommunications has been helping companies in Lexington, KY and surrounding cities with Allworx and Ipitomy business telephone systems (Digital phone systems, Hybrid Phone systems, AND VOIP phone systems), Speco Technologies IP video surveillance (remote video surveillance), Fiber optic cable, Structured CAT5e and CAT6 voice and data cabling, Audio and video products, as well as Refurbished products.

Russell Johnson
|
Mr. Johnson graduated from Knott County Central High in 1986. After high school, he attended Morehead State University. He graduated from Telephony Technology International in 1989. After graduating, he went to work for Central Bell in the New England states. From there, he traveled the U.S. installing 5 ESS systems. He later went to work for Lorain Products in Ohio and New York. Finally, he returned to KY to start AlphaNet Communications in 2000.

Jessica Faith Johnson

Ms. Johnson graduated High school from Blue Grass Baptist School in 2009. After High school she joined the United States Army Reserve. Her MOS in the Army is a Human Resource Specialist and a Postal Operations Specialist. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2014 with a Bachelors in Business Management Concentrating on Human Resources. She began working at AlphaNet in 2012, while attending college, and has been apart of the team ever since.

David Kilburn

Mr. Kilburn has extensive experience as a senior executive with excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills. He is experienced in creating and executing successful sales and marketing strategies in the telecommunications industry. He has an outstanding record of achievement building and nurturing customer relationships while negotiating comprehensive agreements to ensure revenue growth and profitability. He is especially skilled in business-to-business, consultative value-based selling to all levels corporate management in various size companies in diverse industries. Mr. Kilburn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. Mr. Kilburn brings a broad portfolio of successful sales, sales management, marketing, customer service and operations management to the AlphaNet team.

Angela McArthur Hicks

Ms. Hicks began her career as an accountant in 1981 working for a former Governor. After dedicating 23 years to his various and diverse entities, she eventually went out on her own and became self-employed. Her experience has been vast working with: a nationwide bookstore, hotels, apartment high rise, farming, coal, timber, commercial and residential rental property, air charter, limousine service, water proofing, foundation repair, decorative concrete, telecom services, non-profit organizations, two gubernatorial campaigns, sign designs, daycares, heating and air repairs and installation, consulting firm, computer retail and repair, auto sales, and IRS negotiations and audits. She began working for AlphaNet Telecommunications Services in 2009, and is still on staff today maintaining the books, payroll and billing. She finds great excitement in being part of the team at AlphaNet experiencing the growth and success of the company.

Matthew Field

Mr. Field has been a proud Kentucky resident since 2003, After joining AlphaNet in 2023 he quickly graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in cyber systems technology and a minor in informatics. He has a strong passion for all IT related fields and after a decade in the service industry, has very strong client relation skills.

Alex Ball

Mr. Ball graduated from Model Highschool in 2021, he set out on a journey to find his passion. Working in the service industry via restaurants and movie theatres, Alex quickly learned how to interact positively with customers. He eventually found himself working in the insurance industry where he learned the the inner workings of an office and how to keep his team members on schedule. Thankfully AlphaNet discovered him there and was able to convince him to come work for us. Since joining AlphaNet in 2022, he's shown himself to be a sponge of knowledge and quickly became a senior cable technician due to his speed and skill.
